PETS OF THE MONTH - updated! PDF Print E-mail
Lucas has teamed up with 2 local rescues and will post available pets for adoption from these rescues each month.
There are many ways you can help, for more infomation on being a voice for the animals please visit the websites below.

Nashville Cat Rescue: is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing cats and kittens from off the streets and from high-kill shelters and placing them into loving, permanent homes. All cats and kittens that come through our program receive superb veterinary care before they are adopted out to the public. Each Nashville Cat Rescue cat or kitten is tested for FIV/FeLV, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, given flea preventative, and given all necessary vaccinations. Nashville Cat Rescue has been over come with kittens and cats from the recent floods in Nashville.

Proverbs 1210 Rescue:

Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue, A nonprofit 501(c)(3)organization, was founded by Lavonne Redferrin. Our all volunteer staff is dedicated to saving the lives of as many animals as possible and placing them in loving homes. Proverbs 12:10 placed over 650 pets into forever homes during 2009 and averaged 500 placements a year for the previous five years.  That is only a drop in the bucket, but for the animals that have been spared, "it is a very important drop". Although there are sad endings - we see so many more HAPPY ENDINGS. We have dedicated our SUCCESSFUL ADOPTIONS and HAPPY TAILS pages to these happy endings and invite you to read their stories.

Valentine
Adult, Male Love-bug!
Looking for love? Well, look no further! My name is Valentine because I have a heart shape on my side, and because I love the ladies!
A true romantic like myself doesn't like to share my love with other cats, so I would prefer to be the lone fluffball in your home.

If you adopt me, every day can be Valentine's Day!

Meet Elbert!  Elbert is a Coonhound Mix. He weighed approximately 15 pounds when we rescued him from a horrid situation last November but he has gained 20 pounds in the month we've had him already although his ideal body weight should be around 40 pounds. He was rescued from an ugly hoarding situation in Cheatham County, TN where we took in 30 starving dogs, many whom treated for heartworms.  Most all have healed and found loving homes. Elbert was covered in bed sores in addition to being extremely thin and heartworm positive. In spite of the neglect and his poor medical condition, Elbert is incredibly sweet , affectionate and loving. He has had a long recovery including heartworm treatments and neutering but has a positive outlook for a bright future in a forever home.  His photos were taken a few days after we rescued him but you can go to our web home page and see a recent photo where he now looks fantastic!!  www.proverbs1210rescue.org Elbert is one of many resuces we take in on a regular basis - dogs no one else would bother with but ones we consider our gift to treat. That's what a true Animal Rescue does.
